Online Crime Reporting

The Online Crime Reporting System is designed for victims of certain crimes to save time by reporting non-emergency events. Online Crime Reports are reviewed by a supervisor. A case number is generated and returned to you via email (typically within 72 hours) and you can print a copy of the police report at no cost.

Online Crime Reporting cannot be used for felonies, crimes where the suspect is known, if the crime address is unknown or if the value of something stolen or damaged exceeds $5,000.

An online report is a good option if a police report number is needed for insurance purposes.

Using the Edmonds Police Department Online Crime Reporting System, you can report the following incidents:

Theft Theft from Vehicle Vehicle Prowling
Vandalism Graffiti Abandoned Vehicles
Lost Property

When To File an Online Report

The online report allows you to submit a report if the following requirements are met:

  • The incident is not an emergency
  • There are no known suspects
  • The incident occurred inside the City of Edmonds
  • You have a valid email address
  • Item(s) were lost, stolen or damaged
  • Dollar amount is under $5,000

Reporting Serious Incidents

To report more significant crimes, found property or if you need an officer to contact you for a loss of $5,000 or more, call our non-emergency dispatch number at 425-407-3999.
