This page provides a high-level overview of the code update work currently in progress, completed updates, and upcoming changes. Changes to codes and regulations are proposed by staff periodically for compliance, efficiency purposes.
Any major code update is a TYPE V decision, which involves planning board, city council and community engagement.
Minor updates are non-substantive and do not result in policy change, which include modernizing language, eliminate typos, remove outdated references, and allow for reformatting.In 2023, City Council adopted Ordinance 4295 to streamline the process for implementing minor code amendments.
