Starting Salaries:

  • Top Step Officer- $124K + Applicable Incentives
  • 100% of Medical Premiums are paid for Employees (90% for Dependents)

All applicants must be twenty-one (21) years old at the time of appointment and a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States; have a high school diploma or equivalent; valid Washington State Vehicle Operator's license with no pending risk of loss; have ability to read and write the English language. Applicants must have maintained sufficient physical agility to be able to perform the usual and regular duty assignments of a police officer.

Effective 1/19/23, Entry Level candidates will initially be ranked based on 100 percent of the written examination score. The City of Edmonds applies Veterans Scoring Criteria to prospective candidates after a PHS review, an invitation to submit a City of Edmonds application, and a Veterans’ Scoring Declaration.
