Our vision is to create a connected and inclusive community through the comprehensive greenway network. 

The Greenway Loop will be separated from traffic and motorized vehicles with a landscaped buffer to enhance safety while encouraging active forms of mobility. This aligns with the City’s climate goals to reduce carbon emissions (by driving less for daily needs), to improve air quality, to improve public health, and to help achieve a high quality of life for all Edmonds residents.

The Edmonds Greenway Loop is a nearly 20-mile path that connects schools, parks, and open spaces in and around Edmonds. The Loop offers scenic routes alongside parks, the waterfront, and other areas providing an enjoyable and beautiful experience for users.

Emphasis for the design will focus on accessibility for all ages and abilities. Users can enjoy the path in a variety of ways - walking, jogging, biking, rolling or simply strolling. 

Focus on

• Walking and biking priority

• Protected bike lanes in key areas to improve pedestrian safety

• Widening of current sidewalks for smoother movement of pedestrians and cyclists

• Introduction of landscape buffers, street seating, bike parking, and other amenities to enhance the path's infrastructure and appearance

• Installation of new streetlights and signage along the path to meet safety standards

• Implementation of Green Street infrastructure to ensure efficient stormwater drainage

Implementation of the Edmonds Greenway Loop will occur in phases. The first phase will start with the southern section in areas with the highest traffic volumes and greatest pedestrian needs.
