City Clerk's Office

The City Clerk's office is a service department within the municipal government upon which the City Council, all city departments, and the general public rely for information regarding the operations and legislative history of the city. We strive for exceptional responsiveness to our residents, our policy makers, and fellow staff. Our forward thinking focus provides the framework for an open and impartial approach to conducting City Council meetings, recording and maintaining accurate City history, and efficient conduct of administrative duties in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. What We Do

Business Licenses and Special Events

In partnership with the State Business Licensing Service, the City Clerk's Office reviews and approves business license applications submitted through the MyDOR portal. We also review, process and approve Special Event permits which are required for a special event occurring outdoors on public property.

 

Claims for Damages

If you believe the City is at fault for an incident or accident resulting in loss, injury or damages, you can file a claim requesting payment. Claims must be filed using the official Claim for Damages form and submitted to the City Clerk's Office.

 

Elections and Voter Registration

Snohomish County Elections administers primaries and elections and manages the voter registration process for Snohomish County voters.

 

Employee, Residential, RV and Visitor Parking

Downtown Edmonds offers a number of parking options including, residential and employee parking permits, pay parking surface lots, and free short-stay parking for customers of retail, dining and entertainment venues. Parking citations are handled through the municipal court.

 

Interlocal Agreements

RCW 39.34 permits a local government to enter into interlocal agreements with other public agencies in the interest of cooperatively sharing resources for their mutual benefit. The City of Edmonds has executed interlocal agreements with other public agencies for various purposes over the years and houses them in the City’s electronic document system.

Request for Public Records

Public Records Requests submitted under RCW 42.56, The Public Records Act, should be submitted through our Public Records Portal. Requests for police public records and building and land use permit records can also be submitted online through the portal.

Please note that you will be required to create an account for the Public Records Portal and provide at least one contact method. Passwords do not expire.
