Sustainability Initiatives

The City of Edmonds designed a coordinated set of plans and programs to support the City leading toward sustainability. Edmonds accomplished most of the resultant actions by integrating these principles into its operations. From being the first municipality in Washington State to ban single-use plastic bags to partnering with the private sector to increase the production and use of renewable energy and technologies through the Community Solar Project, this commitment benefits the residents, environment, and economy of Edmonds.
