Household Support Grants

The City of Edmonds is offering Household Support Grants to qualifying Edmonds residents to help meet needs associated with the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Up to $2,500 grants are available to help defray expenses such as rent, childcare, utilities, medical bills, car repair bills, or other household expenses. 

The two principal eligibility criteria are:

  1. Must live within the Edmonds city limits, and
  2. The household must meet at least one of the following criteria:

A. Earn no more than 60% of the Edmonds median income. The income break-down for household size is as follows:

  • 8-person: $81,858/year or $6,821/month
  • 7-person: $77,180/year or $6,432/month 
  • 6-person: $72,503/year or $6,042/month 
  • 5-person: $67,825/year or $5,652/month
  • 4-person: $63,147/year or $5,262/month
  • 3-person: $58,470/year or $4,872/month
  • 2-person: $52,969/year or $4,414/month
  • 1-person: $47,672/year or $3,973/month

B. Qualify for assistance under at least one of the listed programs from the US Department of Treasury Final Rule. The programs that pre-qualify a person are: 

  • Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
  • Childcare Subsidies through the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Program
  • Medicaid
  • National Housing Trust Fund (HTF), for affordable housing programs only
  • Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), for affordable housing programs only
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Free and Reduced-Price Lunch (NSLP) and/or School Breakfast (SBP) programs
  • Medicare Part D Low-income Subsidies
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Head Start and/or Early Head Start
  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
  • Section 8 Vouchers
  • Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
  • Pell Grants

If you and your household meet these criteria, please fill out the  application below. You will be contacted within approximately ten business days by the agency working under contract for the City of Edmonds.   

The Edmonds Household Support Grant program is administered by Washington Kids in Transition (WKIT). Applications are processed in the order they are received. The organization is small, local community serving, processing a high volume of applications. The City of Edmonds established the eligibility criteria and WKIT is assisting in the processing of the applications, eligibility determination and disbursement of funds.
