TOURISM PROMOTION AWARDSBy City Council Resolution twenty-five percent of the Lodging Tax funds received by the City are allocated to the Edmonds Arts Commission for support of cultural tourism, economic development through the arts, and promotion of local arts events. The Arts Commission annually makes recommendations for awards to promote cultural tourism that are submitted to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee for inclusion in the annual budget. Approved projects will receive reimbursement following submission of invoices. Past contracts have been awarded to organizations including the Cascade Symphony, Driftwood Players, Edmonds in Bloom, Edmonds Historical Museum, and Olympic Ballet Theatre. ASSISTANCE / TRAINING WORKSHOPS
The Edmonds Arts Commission periodically coordinates training and technical assistance workshops for local cultural organizations and artists. Past topics have included board recruitment, strategic planning, marketing, and public art.
