Requesting An Inspection for Your Project

Inspections can now be scheduled online!  Requests for an inspection of your permitted project should be made a minimum of 24 hours prior to the date needed.  Many projects will need inspections from multiple departments including, Building, Planning, Engineering and Fire.

Inspections are performed Monday through Friday unless otherwise stated on the inspection request line.

For FINAL project inspections, Engineering inspections (when required by permit) must be scheduled in advance of calling for your Building final inspection.

Requests for FINAL Engineering inspections require 48 hours notice.

Inspections are typically performed between the hours of 8am-4pm. When requesting your inspection, please note your preference for AM or PM.

Please visit Online Permits to review the status of your project and to see a list of inspections that have been completed, as well as other inspections that may be required.


REMINDERS:

  • Approved plans and inspection card shall be on site and available to the inspector at all times.
  • Utility installations shall not be backfilled until approved by the inspector.
  • Concrete pours shall not commence until forms have been approved by the inspector.
  • Temporary erosion and sedimentation control is the responsibility of the contractor/owner and shall be maintained throughout the project.
  • Traffic control shall be provided to MUTCD standards and per approved plans.


Building News

New office hours

Due to staffing cutbacks, beginning April 10, 2013, our Wednesday hours will be from 8:00am until Noon;  afternoon hours will be by appointment only. The phone switchboard will still be open daily until 4:30 and inspection schedules will not be affected. More information here.
