The Edmonds Police Department serves a population of 40,000, with 53 commissioned police officers and 10 support personnel. EPD is a service first organization that is strongly supported by the community in which we work. We are a waterfront city, centered between Everett and Seattle with major state thoroughfares. Specialty assignments are a blend of local and regional assets based on the needs of our communities. Detectives, Motors, K9, Traffic, Dive Team, and Street Crimes units provide our staff with excellent opportunities. Regional SWAT, Narcotics, and Civil Disturbance teams enhance interagency cooperation and response capability.

Excellent pay
and benefits! Starting $5005 (Entry); $6066 (Lateral); $6683 (Top). Multiple incentive pay opportunities.12 hour, 4/4 patrol shifts. Comp, Kelly and Holiday hour accruals with buy back options.

The Edmonds Police Department uses PublicSafetyTesting.com for initial candidate testing.  Entry and Lateral candidates must take a written exam and physical ability test to be eligible for employment.

All applicants must be twenty-one (21) years old and a citizen of the United States; have a high school diploma or equivalent; valid Washington State Vehicle Operator's license with no pending risk of loss; ability to read and write the English language. Applicants must have maintained sufficient physical agility as to be able to perform the usual and regular duty assignments of a police officer.
