Judge Linda W. Y. Coburn
As the Edmonds Municipal Court Judge, I would like to welcome you to our webpage and take this opportunity to give you a brief overview of the Court.
We are located at 250 Fifth Avenue North in downtown Edmonds. Our phone number is 425-771-0210. Our email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. The Court is housed in the Public Safety Complex.
Edmonds Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction. We handle misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor criminal cases that occur within the City of Edmonds. Maximum criminal penalties are one year in jail and five thousand dollars in fines. Typical types of cases include DUI, assault in the fourth degree, driving with a suspended license, theft in the third degree and minor drug possession cases. We also process civil traffic and parking infractions along with animal control and nuisance violations.
In 2002, the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs designated this Court as a Passport Agency; therefore, you can renew or apply for a passport. You can review the business hours, fee schedules and required papers for passport processing by returning to the home page or by clicking this link: Passport Procedures.
Court sessions are held in a multi-purpose room. The courtroom also serves as the City Council Chambers and is used for award ceremonies, training, various committee meetings and public hearings. The citizens of Edmonds deserve thanks for approving the Public Safety Bond that allowed for the construction of this wonderful facility.
Our office hours are 8:30 AM—4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The Court is closed during the noon hour from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Our weekly schedule is as follows:
Monday: 1:00 Probation reviews. 2:30 Video in-custody calendar.
Tuesday: 1:00 Long motions when needed.
Wednesday: 8:30 Pre-trial and confirmation. 11:00 Contested hearings, sentencing, and short motions. 1:00 Arraignments. 2:30 Video in-custody calendar.
Thursday: 8:30 Jury trials are scheduled on alternating Thursday & Fridays.
Friday: 1:00 Mitigation and contested hearings. 3:15 Video in-custody calendar.
If you have received an infraction, you can request a written contested or mitigation hearing and avoid the necessity of a court appearance. If you want to submit a written request for an infraction hearing then simply return to the main court page and select a form from the infractions category.
We do not handle civil claims, small claims or anti-harassment orders. Those are processed at Snohomish County District Court, South Division, located at 20520 68th Ave W, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
We endeavor to provide you with prompt, professional and courteous service. I work hard to ensure your civil rights are preserved and respected, and that criminals are held accountable for their actions. Justice, fairness and integrity comprise the backbone of our legal system and are the touchstones of my personal and professional life.
If you wish to learn more about me, my current biography is available for you to read. I can also be reached at email@example.com. Please do not contact me regarding a pending case. It is improper for me to have contact with only one party in a legal proceeding. All of my decisions must be based on information that is provided to all parties on the record in open court.
I hope that you find this website useful and informative. We welcome your feedback and comments. My court administrator, Joan Ferebee, can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
