Under terms of the Agreement, SCFD #1 staffs the City’s three fire stations 24/7. The fire stations are located in Edmonds at:
One Battalion Chief serves the City, and each City station is staffed with one Fire Captain and two Firefighter/EMTs. Station 17 on 6th Avenue is also staffed with two Firefighter/Paramedics.
The Fire Chief of Snohomish County FD #1 is designated as the City Fire Chief. The District also provides a Fire Marshal and Fire Inspector local to the City.

City of Edmonds currently partipates in a planning committee to evaluate a regionalized fire and emergency medical service agency, providing our citizens and those of adjoined neighboring jurisditions to explore the advantages in formation of a regional fire authority serving the citizens of all of southwest Snohomish County. Fire Districts 1 and 7, Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo, and Woodway formed a Regional Fire Authority Planning Committee in January 2011 to begin this process.
