Wastewater is all the water that leaves the inside of your home or business and enters the Edmonds’ sewer system. This wastewater then flows through city-owned and maintained pipes into the Edmonds and Lynnwood Wastewater Treatment Plants where it is treated to meet federal and state water quality standards.

The Edmonds Public Works Water Division is responsible for the maintenance and operation of over 168 miles of sewer main and lateral as well as 14 lift stations. (Click here for Public Works Contact Info (Sewer Backups, etc) The Engineering Division is responsible for the long range planning (click here for Sanitary Sewer Comprehensive Plan info) of the system and the design and/or review of design for sewer system improvements and extensions (click here for 2008-2014 Sewer Capital Improvement Program) (click here for Link to Edmonds Standard Details) (click here for Side Sewer Permit Information) (click here for Regulations for Sewage Pumps- Single Family) (click here for Regulations for Sewage Pumps- Multi-Family). Most of the incorporated City Limits are served by the Edmonds Public Sewer System. The City sewer system presently serves an area of about 7.4 square miles within the City Limits.

Unsure about where your sewer connects?
Engineering has the original building sewer connection drawings created during inspection of the construction of the sewer for most properties in the Edmonds Service Area.
