Three private hauling companies provide convenient, scheduled curbside garbage collection, recycling, and yard waste services within the Edmonds city limits.
Please contact your hauling company to start/stop service, or for any other service questions:
The City of Edmonds Waste Prevention and Recycling Program includes public education and awareness for all aspects of solid waste management - reuse, recycling, composting, proper disposal methods, local options, opportunities for recycling other materials, and other waste prevention activities. For the latest information about these programs, please contact Steve Fisher, the City of Edmonds Recycling Coordinator, at (425) 771-0235.
Snohomish County operates the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Facility in Everett. Unwanted oil paint and stains*, pesticides, batteries, motor oil, etc. can be dropped at this location. It is open every Wednesday through Saturday, 7:30am until 4:00pm and their service is free to Snohomish County residents.
For additional information you can call 425-388-6050.
*Latex paint is no longer accepted at this facility.
Currently, curbside garbage collection by one of the private haulers is not mandatory in Edmonds plus the City itself does not operate its own garbage collection department. Residents and businesses could choose to transport their own solid waste to transfer facilities operated by Snohomish County. However, convenient scheduled collection is predominant among the neighborhoods and businessess throughout the City.
For single and multi-family properties that subscribe to garbage service, recycling is included.
