All convicted sex offenders are required to register with the sheriff’s office in the county in which they live. It is the responsibility of local jurisdictions to monitor Registered Sex Offenders (RSO) for compliance, and the Edmonds Police Department has a detective assigned to monitor those offenders living within the City of Edmonds. The detective coordinates with the Street Crimes Unit and Patrol Division to enforce the RSO’s reporting requirements. An RSO that is found out of compliance with restrictions may be subject to arrest and/or additional prosecution.
