Arts and Culture

Edmonds and Arts have always gone hand in hand – a walkable downtown filled with art is a great combination.

The City of Edmonds celebrates the arts through the Edmonds Arts Commission, and the community is home to a diverse group of non-profit arts organizations and arts businesses.

Start your exploration of the Edmonds Art Community with a self-guided walking tour of art in the downtown area, a wonderful way to learn more about our community – its art and its history.

The center of town is anchored by Cedar Dreams, an iconic fountain art installation with elements that refer to community history. Murals surprise you in an alley way, sculptures command notice while a multitude of art details draw your eye on the Waterfront Walkway.

Join locals and visitors alike for Edmonds’ Third Thursday Art Walk and get an up-close and inside look at art, artists and shops that enrich Edmonds.  Year-round rotating art exhibits are shown at the Edmonds Library and Frances Anderson Center at the Edmonds Arts Festival Museum.

Catch the annual Arts Festival in June, a spectacular event recently voted Western Washington’s “Best Street Fair.” Fall events include the Edmonds Art Studio Tour and Write on the Sound Writers’ Conference.

Spread out a blanket on the grass for summer Concerts in City Park or Hazel Miller Plaza Concerts. The Port of Edmonds presents SeaJazz on Wednesday and Sundays, June thru mid September. The Edmonds Center for the Arts is home to the Cascade Symphony Orchestra, Olympic Ballet and Sno-King Chorale. It also presents world class music, dance and comedy year-around in a state-of-the-art venue. Full seasons of live theater are on stage at the Wade James Theatre and Phoenix Theatre.
