The Economic Development Department proactively works to strengthen the Edmonds economy, create a more business-friendly environment, and add commercial amenities for residents and visitors to enjoy. If you’re thinking of opening a business in Edmonds, check in with the Economic Development Department first and let us be your guide at City Hall.

The Economic Development Director acts as the primary liaison between the private sector and city staff. Services include:

    • Site selection assistance
    • Business recruitment & retention
    • Film/ TV industry location help
    • Interdepartmental coordination and follow-up on questions or concerns from the business/ development community
    • Public relations regarding business and economic development issues.

The Economic Development Department works with other city departments and elected officials on policies to bolster the retail and commercial sectors. We also meet regularly with local businesses, property owners, and associations.
