The Library Board advises the Mayor and City council on the following: planning, management, use, care, and disposition of the library’s property, equipment, and facilities; the policies, rules, and regulations of the use of the library and its facilities; and the budget, administration, and scope of services provided by the Sno-Isle Library System. The board also advises the Sno-Isle Library System on matters on relating to the Edmonds library.

Board members are appointed by the Mayor with no Council confirmation required. Terms are for five years with two-term limits. Terms less than two years are not considered full terms. Edmonds residency is not required for board members.
