Dayton Street 3rd to 9th Ave Utility Replacement

This project provides for the replacement and rehabilitation of Stormwater, Sewer and Potable Water Utilities along with ADA ramp improvements at the intersections of Dayton and 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th and the addition of the missing link of sidewalk on the south side of Dayton from 7th to 8th.

SCOPE

  • Replace and upsize existing utilities on Dayton from 3rd to 9th including:
    • 3800 feet of water pipe replaced
    • 4300 feet of sewer pipe replaced
    • 3200 feet of storm pipe replaced
  • New sidewalk on the south side of Dayton between 7th and 8th
  • Dayton Street to be rebuilt and paved along project limits
  • Pedestrian curb ramps to be constructed to meet ADA standards
  • Revise sidewalk/intersection geometry at Dayton and 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th

BACKGROUND

  • Existing storm pipe system is undersized and causes flooding in the downtown area during heavy rainstorms
  • Water and sewer pipes are at or near the end of their lifespan and are in need of upsizing and rehabilitation

SCHEDULE

  • Estimated design completion end of 2018
  • Construction expected to start by early spring 2019
  • Construction expected to be divided by blocks/sections/areas
  • Starting at 3rd & Dayton required due to sewer and storm pipes being gravity driven
