Summer 2016
building codesThe 2015 International Codes, as amended by the State, became effective on July 1, 2016. This is a regular building code update cycle that occurs every 3 years, and results in the City updating Title 19 of the city’s development code to reflect what the state adopts, along with some regulations specific to Edmonds.  The “family” of building codes includes those for commercial construction, residential construction, as well as fire, plumbing, mechanical, energy, accessibility and property maintenance. By reviewing, amending, and adopting the model codes, we help ensure that Edmonds’ built environment reflects the latest in design, technologies, and safety standards.
