ShaneHope compShane Hope is the new Development Services Director for the City of Edmonds. She has a Master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Washington and a certificate in urban design (also from the UW). Her last job—of over 11 years—was as the Community and Economic Development Director at the City of Mountlake Terrace, where she was involved in many positive changes for the city. In this role, Shane also co-chaired the Snohomish County Tomorrow Planning Advisory Committee and the North Corridor Task Force for Growing Transit Communities, as well as serving on various boards and committees, including the Regional Staff Committee for the Puget Sound Regional Council. Previously, she directed the state’s growth management program, assisting local governments in planning for future growth and environmental protection. Other work included being the Governor’s Policy Coordinator for the Columbia River Gorge, and being a program manager for various state programs, such as the Main Street Program. Shane resides in Seattle with her spouse and has two grown sons. She can be contacted at shane.hope@edmondswa.gov.



scott james compScott James balances more than the books at the City of Edmonds. As Finance Director for the City, James will leverage his 20 years of experience in accounting and finance and bring nationally recognized expertise in budgeting and financial statement generation as he comes to work for you and the City. James received his Business of Administration degree from the University of Washington and thereafter earned his C.P.A. license. In addition to working for the City, James volunteers his time by sitting on the Executive Board for Camp Fire of Snohomish County and on the Executive Board for Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival and serves on the Board for South Everett Mukilteo Rotary Club. James also serves as Quasi Board Member for Edmonds Business Improvement District and Edmonds Public Facilities District. He resides in Edmonds with his wife and daughter.
