IN THE SPIRIT OF GIVING

Giving Tree
The City of Edmonds and Volunteers of America are sponsoring Giving Trees at the Frances Anderson Center and Edmonds City Hall. The trees, with 250 tags to choose from, will be up November 21, 2016. Select a tag with the name of a person in need and their gift suggestion. Purchase a gift and return the wrapped gift by the deadline. Call 425.771.0230 for more information.

Celebration of Lights
Light a light this holiday season for someone you love, something you wish for, or in remembrance of a loved one. Each light you light is a donation to the City of Edmonds Youth Scholarship Fund that enables Edmonds’ children to participate in Edmonds Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services programs who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity. A living fir tree will be strung with lights and placed near the entrance of the Frances Anderson Center. Donate $5 per light and we’ll note your donation on the main floor bulletin board of the Frances Anderson Center. The tree will be lit the week of Thanksgiving and will remain lit until January 2. After the holidays this tree will be planted in the interior of one of our parks. Call 425.771.0268 to request a light a light form.

Memorial Fir Trees
Would you like to dedicate one of the living fir trees outside of City Hall or the Frances Anderson Center to a loved one? These trees will be strung with white lights during the holiday season and planted in the interior of Yost Park after the holidays. A laminated sign with your choice of wording will be placed at the base of the tree and a small permanent plate will be placed on the Memorial Plaque inside the Frances Anderson Center. The trees are available to memorialize for a $115 donation by calling 425.771.0232. Limited quantity.
